Postcard of the Week: Caminito, Buenos Aires
Caminito is apparently a traditional alleyway in La Boca, in Buenos Aires that inspired the composer Juan de Dios Filiberto to create his famous tango song ‘Caminito‘ (listen to the video below). Aside from a 3 hour stop over in Buenos Aires airport on my way to Santiago, Chile, I have never been to Buenos Aires, and this postcard comes instead from my boyfriend who, being Latin American, knows the city well. I once read a biography of Jose Luis Borges, an important Argentine writer and poet who lived in Buenos Aires, and the book gave me such a vivid image of the city that I’m dying to see it with my own eyes. Along with Brazil and Patagonia, Buenos Aires is high on my list of places to visit when I finally take my big trip around South America.
I got lost in Caminito in 2003 and was so scared, but later loved La Boca.

Buenos Aires has sadly become a somewhat dangerous place, but i think you should be ok if you stick to the touristic places
