Enter this Travel Writing Competition: ‘Tales of Two Cities’ to win a free trip to Paris

Tales of Two Cities        I adore competitions… and competitions with trips abroad as prizes are the very best kind! Do you fancy a free luxury weekend away in Paris per chance?? Of course you do!

All you need to do is write between 500-1000 words about your most memorable journey between two destinations. If you’re racking your brains trying to think of any journey at all where you didn’t fall asleep from boredom, then perhaps the article I wrote a while ago on my favourite journeys, “It’s not the destination, but the journey, that matters”, might jog your memory.

Have you riden a camel in Morocco? Or perhaps you tuk-tuked your way around Thailand? Write about the most interesting or memorable journey you’ve ever had and you could win a weekend for 2 at the 5* hotel Le Royal Monceau Paris (including 2 return Eurostar tickets from London, 2 nights in a studio room, breakfast buffet and a 3 course meal at the Michelin-starred La Cuisine restaurant), and a runner-up will win a Panasonic Lumix LZ20 digital camera. That is a seriously good prize! I’m heading to Paris at the end of July for a long weekend but I certainly won’t be staying in such luxury. Take a look at the photos below of the hotel – it looks stunning…

I can’t wait to see what amazing journeys you’ve been on, so feel free to email them to me at contact@thewell-travelledpostcard.com and I can forward your entry on to Black Tomato, the expert travel company running the competition. Alternatively you can submit it directly to them by clicking here (please mention that you heard about the competition on this blog), where you can also find more details about the competition and the Terms and Conditions. But be quick as the competition closes at midnight UK time next Sunday on 14th July.

Good luck, I have my fingers crossed for you!

UPDATE on 24th July: My reader Katie McLeod actually won this travel writing competition (!) so a big congratulations to her! You can find out more about her winning travel writing entry by clicking here. It’s a fantastic story spanning China and Japan, with a lovely twist at the end…
