Introducing The Well-Travelled Podcast!
Today I’m launching an exciting new project: The Well-Travelled Podcast! In case the title weren’t enough of a clue, it’s a new podcast about travel which complements this blog, providing another way to connect with the bigger questions in travel.
Take a listen to this quick 2-minute trailer to find out what’s in store for series 1:
In case you’re a new listener and keen to know more about the podcast’s origins, I’m Virginia – the founder and host of The Well-Travelled Podcast. I run this podcast alongside my full-time job and my part-time passion for travel writing here on The Well-Travelled Postcard. I’m currently based in London, but I’ve lived all over Europe in the past few years, from Spain to Italy, from The Netherlands to Sweden, and before that I also spent some time living in Chile and Nepal. I’ve travelled to over 65 countries across 6 continents, and travel is an utterly fundamental part of who I am.
Over the last 8 years I’ve amassed over 500 blog posts full of travel itineraries, tips and advice, so I’ve plenty of travel know-how to share. The Well-Travelled Podcast is a new weekly spotlight on travel and brings together the most essential advice to help and inspire you to travel and explore the world.
Which topics does The Well-Travelled Podcast cover?
Throughout the podcast I’ll signpost you to useful tips and itineraries you can find on my blog for specific destinations, from Sicily to Sri Lanka, to St Petersburg. In series 1 of these weekly podcast episodes however, we won’t be diving into specific destinations, instead we’ll stick to the bigger questions in travel. We’ll explore topics such as:
- why we feel compelled to travel
- how to conquer shyness through travel
- my top tips for learning a foreign language or planning a sabbatical
- how to make travel more affordable
- how to save the world from overtourism
We’ll also feature interviews with special guests from my Inspiring Individuals series, who have completed some astounding journeys and expeditions.
This podcast will lift you outside of your bubble, outside of your daily routine, and take you on a journey around the globe, as we look at the world of travel. I guarantee you’ll feel excited and inspired, and better equipped to make your own travel dreams a reality.
