Postcard of the Week: Chamonix
Chamonix is one of my favourite resorts for several reasons. First of all, it’s huge and has great links to other resorts in the valley such as Argentiere. Secondly, it’s only a short drive away from Courmayeur through the Mont Blanc tunnel, where I spent 4 months doing a ski season during my Gap Year, so I have fond memories of that. Thirdly, you’re right next to Europe’s highest mountain, Mont Blanc at 4,810m, and you can ski the Vallee Blanche, on the glacier. Fourthly, there is a huge amount of off-piste. And last but not least, the nightlife is pretty good from what I can remember!
I’ve never been in Summer, but like most Alpine resorts, they have plenty of summer sports to entertain you, from hiking to mountain biking, to paragliding…
I havnt visited chamonix before, but have visited ski resorts very near by- sounds great though. I missed out on a ski trip this year and this is making me want to go again!!!

It’s a shame we have to wait a whole 8 or so months to go skiing again! You could go the southern hemisphere (I’ve worked in a Chilean ski resort) but it can be quite costly!
