International Education Week 2013 and My Interview as Part of the Language Launchpad
The aim of the annual International Education Week is to “promote the importance of an international dimension to primary and secondary education in the UK and to promote the learning of modern foreign languages as a part of this”. One of the projects run specifically to coincide with International Education Week is called Language Launchpad, a partnership between the European Commission and the website ThirdYearAbroad.com, which has produced a series of short videos to be shown in schools across the country to encourage students to study languages. I was very pleased to be asked to participate in this project and here is the short video of the interview I gave, in which I talked about why I chose to study languages, how they helped me find graduate employment and my tips for other students considering taking a third year abroad. DTour of a Lifetime with DoubleTree by Hilton
I was thrilled to be chosen as a winner of the Double Tree by Hilton contest to win a DTour of a Lifetime, and I won the opportunity to travel coast-to-coast across North America! This video was part of my application, a quick explanation of why you should choose me to be one of the six DTourists. Watch videos from my DTour across North America here
Strolling through Milan
Here’s a quick snapshot of my long weekend in Milan at the end of April, which is the next in my ‘Strolling through …’ series, following in the footsteps of my first ever attempt at a video: Strolling through Modena. I filmed this video in the infamous Piazza del Duomo, inside the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, and then in the piazza in front of the opera house La Scala. Milan has much much more to offer than just this little area, it’s just that we had rather bad weather that weekend so my other shots of the city are all rather rainy! See full post here
My Application to Attend One Young World 2013 in Johannesburg

Strolling through Modena
A stroll through Modena, Italy, in May 2012. Taking in some of the iconic places in the city, such as a Spritz cocktail and aperitivi at Caffè Concerto in Piazza Grande, Via Emilia, the Giardini Pubblici, part of Piazza Roma and Via Farini, Corso Canal Grande, one of the city’s newer gelaterie ‘La Gelida Voglia’ and of course the cathedral’s tower, the Torre della Ghirlandina.
